HOW TO USE TAPE
Step 1: Prepare Your Hands
- Spread your fingers wide: This allows you to wrap your hand without it being too tight once your hand is relaxed.
- Check for comfort: Remove any rings, watches, or bracelets.
- Clean hands: Ensure your hands are clean and free of cuts or abrasions.

Step 2: Position the Tape
- Start with the thumb loop (if applicable): Many hand wraps have a loop for the thumb. Place it securely around your thumb.
- Anchor the wrap around the wrist: Wrap the tape 2-3 times around your wrist to provide stability and a solid base.

Step 3: Wrap the Hand
1. Move from the wrist to the knuckles: After anchoring at the wrist, start wrapping toward your knuckles.

Step 4: Protect the Knuckles
- Focus on padding: Wrap the tape 3-4 times around your knuckles to provide cushioning.
- Check the fit: Ensure the padding is evenly distributed and does not restrict movement.

Step 5: Secure the Fingers
- Wrap between the fingers: Pass the tape between each finger, creating separation and securing the knuckles. Start from the pinky and work toward the index finger.
- Return to the knuckles: After wrapping between the fingers, bring the tape back to the knuckles for reinforcement.

Step 6: Reinforce the Wrist
- Wrap the wrist again: After completing the hand and knuckles, finish with several wraps around the wrist for extra support.
- Secure the end of the wrap: If using reusable wraps, use the Velcro closure. If using adhesive boxing tape, tear off the end and press it firmly to secure.

Step 7: Check for Comfort
- Flex your hand: Ensure you can comfortably make a fist. The tape should feel snug but not overly tight.
- Adjust as needed: Loosen or tighten areas for comfort and security.

Step 8: Test Before Use
- Try some light punches: Shadowbox or hit a punching bag lightly to ensure the wraps stay secure and comfortable.
- Make adjustments if needed: If the tape shifts or feels loose, rewrap it for better security.
Tips and Best Practices
- Regular practice: Wrapping your hands effectively takes practice, so don’t worry if it feels tricky at first.
- Wash reusable wraps: Keep your reusable wraps clean by washing them regularly to prevent odor and bacteria buildup.
- Consult a coach: If you’re new, ask your coach or an experienced boxer to check your wrapping technique.
By following these steps, you can safely and effectively use boxing tape to protect your hands and wrists during training or matches.
